  • Positive Pants

    There are many political situations unfolding in the world today, and it’s easy to get bogged down by the daily dramas and news-induced stress. This is just a gentle reminder to also focus on the good.

    I’m incredibly thankful for my family and friends. We may not always see eye to eye, but we understand that differing points of view don’t signal the end of a relationship—they mark the beginning of a new conversation, not a confrontation.

    Remember kindness is free, and yet it’s one of the most powerful gifts we can offer one another. It should never be taken for granted. I truly believe that love wins in the end—when we allow it to strengthen our relationships and soften our differences.

    I pray that everyone has the opportunity to discover this for themselves.

  • Hobby Lobby

    To whoever created Hobby Lobby — you are a genius.

    Today, my neighbor and I set out to grab a few simple items to help us with some tasks we had planned. Nothing major — or so we thought. But, as it usually goes, we left with far more than we intended. (Hi, I’m the problem. It’s me.)

    The beauty of this store is that it truly is a one-stop shop. For busy people, that kind of efficiency is gold. Instead of running around town to multiple stores, we found everything we needed in one place — and more. On top of that, the customer service was top-notch. Staff were helpful, fast, and knew exactly where things were, which made the experience even smoother.

    By the time we got home, I was bursting with inspiration. I finally created a “calm toolkit” — something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. It includes a weighted blanket, a soft light-up squish toy, a magnetic fidget toy, a worry stone, and a few other grounding tools to help me stay in the moment.

    And because I apparently thrive on multitasking, I also started a crochet project: a shawl for Brookelin’s wedding… which is in less than two weeks! So now I’m racing against the clock to complete rows and rows of stitches, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

    So, to sum it all up:
    Thank you, Hobby Lobby, for fueling my creativity, helping me tackle long-standing goals, and giving me more projects than I know what to do with. I’ll be back next year — because honestly, I can’t keep up with everything I want to try.

  • Simple Testimony of Faith

    I believe it’s important to have a testimony—something personal, something true—something that can be shared with the world.

    Today, mine is simple.

    I believe in one God, who reveals Himself in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is kind, loving, and completely trustworthy. He is present whether we recognize Him or not—near to us in moments of joy, sorrow, confusion, and stillness.

    When I pray, I know He hears me. Not because I always have the right words, but because He always has the right heart—a heart turned toward His children.

    “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;
    and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee,
    and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
    — Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)

    “He shall feed His flock like a shepherd:
    He shall gather the lambs with His arm,
    and carry them in His bosom,
    and shall gently lead those that are with young.”
    — Isaiah 40:11 (KJV)

    Let us not forget Him on our best days—for we need Him just as desperately then as we do on our worst. When we soften our hearts to Him, we will begin to notice His comfort in quiet places. We will feel His love, even in the smallest of victories, and His peace, even in the midst of unknowns.

    His presence is steady. His love, unshakable. And His arms are always open.

I love my family and the extension of my family that is being added.
